Hi all.
Has there been a recent change in the law regarding buying airsoft sniper rifles?
I tried to buy a Warrior L96 recently and i was told that i need an air gun license. I've done some research and can find nothing about needing a license.
Does anybody know what the situation actually is?
Cheers

I read an article in this months AI and frenchie was discussing that some shops places will deem a single action rifle (not single shot aeg) as an air weapon.
I remember a while back Platoon were selling a rifle in a similar way.
Now without getting into trouble for giving a point of view, I believe this comes down to the retailers point of view.
There is no air gun license, however you must be over 18 to buy one and I seem to remember this being a very grey area.
I guess that this is an area that will cause some confusion in the next few months. But the easiest way to stay legal is to be over 18 and a UKARA registered member.
Tall Mark could probably give a little more advice on Air Rifles etc as he is more into the other styles of guns.
